Telstar has announced it will be taking part at FarmaForum, a congress for the pharmaceutical, biotechnological, cosmetics and laboratory technology industries.

Taking place in Madrid from 7 March to 8 March, the event will include a workshop titled ’Lean / Kaizen / Operational Excellence in equipment manufacturing and projects management’ chaired by corporate quality and deputy operations director at Telstar German Ormaechea.

In the workshop, Ormaechea will address the main challenges that this system presents for the pharmaceutical industry. He will also introduce the Telstar Operating System (TOS), an own quality management system of lean manufacturing process based on Kaizen methodology implemented by the company for equipment and projects intended for life sciences and health sectors.

German Ormaechea is an industrial engineer with more than 20 years professional experience working in multinational environments for the automotive and pharmaceutical industries. With substantial experience in the application of lean tools, Ormaechea is a specialist in continuous improvement / lean manufacturing.

He has held management positions in the field of quality management and operations management for several multinational companies over the last 16 years. Since 2014, he has been working as corporate quality director and deputy director of operations at Telstar. From this position, he has led the implementation of the Telstar Operating System introducing a complete set of tools and operational changes moving the organisation towards operational excellence.

In addition, qualification and validation team leader of the consultancy department at Telstar Yvonne Ayasse will be unveiling continued process verification as the main strategy for maintaining the state of control, for change management and for continuous improvement over the product lifecycle.

The speaker will explain the meanings of similar terms such as on-going process verification and continued process verification, regulatory requirements addressed at a workshop entitled ‘Continued Process Verification: a key factor of the product lifecycle’. Both sessions will take place on Thursday 8 March at 15:30.

Yvonne Ayasse has a Degree in Pharmacy, specialising in industrial processes. She has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration for the Pharmaceutical Industry from the University of Barcelona.

A professional with more than 18 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry, she has worked for companies related to the field of solid oral drugs manufacturing, parenteral drugs production, blow-fill-seal (BFS), process and sterile medical devices.

Over the years, Ayasse has fulfilled various functions in production, quality assurance, qualification, validation and quality audits. Since 2017, she has been working as team leader, responsible for the qualification and validation department at the consultancy division of Telstar.
