Ravensburg, 27th October 2006 – To round off its full-service capabilities, Vetter Pharma-Fertigung is expanding its services by adding vials for lyophilized substances to its portfolio. Filling will take place at the company’s new state-of-the-art facility at Ravensburg Vetter South (RVS), which are expected to be fully operational as of early 2007. Besides vials, the new facility will have lines for filling all other systems offered by the company.
The new facility represents one further step in Vetter’s development as a leader in the contract manufacturing of liquid and lyophilized drugs. Vetter can now fill active substances for its customers in all the familiar and common administration forms: single- and dual-chamber syringes and cartridges, and vials. It also provides its customers with full life cycle management support for parenteral drugs from the earliest stages of production all the way to market launch and beyond. For example, a vial might be used to introduce a new drug to the market quickly, followed by a refill as a lyophilized product into a dual-chamber syringe system such as the Vetter Lyo-Ject®, which is top in user-friendliness. All the administrating person needs to do is activate the plunger to break the internal seal, reconstitute, remove the air and inject.
Vetter’s full service concept means that companies are receiving support from a single source from its clinical development through its market launch and commercial manufacturing. They benefit from over 25 years of Vetter experience in the production of pre-filled application systems for parenteral drugs.
As a leader in its field, Vetter has supported pharmaceutical companies in the successful launch of many drugs. The company is continuously working towards expanding the capacity and quality of its service by designing and implementing innovative solutions. With several filling lines producing pre-filled systems such as dual-chamber syringes, cartridges and vials, the new facility, RVS, crowns a major round of investments that also gave rise to the extension of an existing site (VLA 5) in Langenargen to fill vials with liquid substances. At the same time, Vetter’s experts keep close tabs on market trends to be ready with optimal solutions for its customers when the time comes.
