Formulation Strategies for Poorly Soluble Drugs
By PatheonWith the advent of combinatorial chemistry and high throughput screening, the number of poorly water soluble drug candidates has dramatically increased. The "drugability" of new chemical entities (NCEs) and life-cycle management of marketed pharmaceutical products are becoming more challenging.
The American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) Formulation Design & Development (FDD) section organized an open forum, which took place immediately following the 2010 AAPS Annual Meeting and Exposition, to address the formulation strategies for poorly soluble drugs.
